I am a constituent in your district. I am writing to ask that you please add your support to H.3398/S.2160 An Act to Promote Gender and Racial Diversity on Public Boards and Commissions, filed by co-lead sponsors Representatives Dawne Shand and Tram Nguyen.
This bill works to ensure parity on public boards and commissions. This bill would do so by asking for transparency, data collection, and reporting of public board and commission membership in order to disclose the gaps of representation.
As you know, public boards and commissions have substantial impact on policies and initiatives on education, health and human services, housing and economic development, labor and workforce development, public safety, and more.
